The battle over Michael Jackson’s estate continues and is somewhat not so much centered around his children. Following a discussion about whether the children will participate in a reality show or not, his former wife’s $500,000 suit, we are now hearing that Jackson’s father Joe believes he is entitled to receive a monthly allowance.

According to media reports, Joe Jackson,80, currently gets about $1700 in Social Security and was able to count on Michael’s financial support in the past. He stated that his monthly expenses are more than $15,000.Among those expenses are  $1200 for rent, $2500 to eat out, $1000 on entertainment, gifts and vacations, $2000 on air travel and $3000 on hotels.

An attorney for the Jackson estate recently described the request as “quite surprising”, but noted that “it will be considered”.

Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine, who has full custody of the three children Prince, Paris and Blanket, receives $26,000 per month.
