Tiger Woods’ public apology almost sounded that there was reason for hope that his marriage could be strong enough to survive 13 mistresses. Now it seems pretty certain that Woods and Nordegren are aiming for the single parent lane. Nordegren is apparently building her case and sources close to her now say that a divorce is unavoidable.
Should we be surprised? Woods has been cheating for a long time, with more than a dozen women, while being in a relationship with Nordegren, while being married to her and while having two little children at home. Can anyone expect Nordegren to believe Woods and his pledge to become a better father and husband and can anyone expect Nordegren to live with their children in the mess Woods has created? Probably not. Woods press release that there is hope for the marriage was either a huge and rather dumb publicity effort or Woods needs a reality check (that may come rather soon.)
People magazine told ABC News that Nordegren has already decided to leave Woods and a divorce is certain. “Sources have told us that […] this marriage is over and she is looking to divorce,” senior editor Kate Coyne said. Despite the emotional pain Woods has caused for her, she seems to be making rational decisions. Woods apparently has already been kicked out of the family home and “she’s going to take her sweet time. She wants all the dirty laundry to be out on the table before she signs anything.”
Woods and Nordegren have two children, Sam, 2, and Charlie, 10 months. Nordegren is reportedly spending time with her parents in her native Sweden and Woods is planning to get through the holidays with friends.
