Jon and Kate Gosselin Are Divorced
It is official: Jon and Kate Gosselin are officially divorced. A Pennyslvania judge issued a final decree of divorce this morning.
Ending the drama of the past weeks, the Gosselin’s are now single parents and can go separate ways.
“I am very relieved that our divorce has been finalized, and I look forward to the New Year, focusing on the children,” Kate Gosselin said in a press release. “On behalf of myself and my legal team, I want to express my deep appreciation to the Judge and his staff, as well as to the arbitrator, for resolving this case. This has been a challenging transition for all of us, but I am confident that we will move ahead with the important task of restructuring our lives.”
TMZ is reporting that Jon Gosselin has to pay monthly child support in the five-figure range, while neither Jon nor Kate will receive alimony. TMZ also says that “the rest of the $235,000 he withdrew from their joint account earlier this year” came out of his share of the settlement. Jon is currently barred from doing virtually any doing paid media work due to his ongoing breach-of-contract battle with TLC.
