Palin-Johnston Custody Battle Open To Public
Levi Johnston has scored a small legal victory again Bristol Palin. A judge sided with him and has opened the custody case to the public. He apparently agreed that Sarah Palin may be a threat to the case and denied Palin’s claim that a sealed case would be in their son’s best interest. A judge also denied Bristol Palin’s request to run the case using the pseudonyms Jane and John Doe.
“He feels Sarah Palin, through her lawyer, under the guise of Bristol Palin’s name, would run roughshod over his very bones,” Levi Johnston’s lawyer Rex Butler wrote in a court filing. Johnston said that he does not intend to embarrass his son Tripp, but believes that a case that is open to the public will help to close the case earlier.
“I know that public scrutiny will simplify this matter and act as a check against anyone’s need to be overly vindictive, aggressive or malicious, not that Bristol would ever be that way, nor that I would. But her mother is powerful, politically ambitious and has a reputation for being extremely vindictive,” Johnston said in his affidavit. “So, I think a public case might go a long way in reducing Sarah Palin’s instinct to attack.”
Bristol Palin filed a petition for full legal and physical custody. Levi Johnston wants a court to grant shared custody of their 1 year-old son.
