How on Earth is cheating compassionate?? Making sure that your partner never finds out is compassionate, because you don't want them to suffer, but people don't have sex (be it with their partner, a stranger, a client/sex-worker etc.) because they feel compassion for them (although they may feel compassion for them, that's not why they have sex with them), they have sex for their own selfish reasons. What a complete fu..ing retard this character is. Does he even know what 'compassion' means?

Even if you could force yourself to have sex for purely altruistic reasons, sexual attraction and compassion are two separate emotions. Sexual attraction is amoral, it's shallow, compassion is not.
