Gosselins told to be nice, Jon asked to go boxing
When all common sense is gone, divorcing couples often need a judge to tell them what is right or wrong. In that view, celebrities are not different than we ordinary people. Hollywood gossip blog TMZ reports that soon-to-be single parents Jon and Kate Gosselin were told to keep things “private” and “amicable.” Sounds good to us and probably even better to the Gosselin’s children.
We somewhat doubt that this advice will actually sink in, but there is some hope as Jon has apparently turned down a ridiculous celebrity boxing match with a fellow divorced sort-of-celebrity dad. What a rough life that is.
Boxing? Yes, I am not kidding. Michael Lohan, the single dad of on-and-off single celebrity daughter Lindsay, said he invited Jon to join him in the Celebrity Boxing Federation. The omnipresent Lohan told media that the organization wondered if he could ask Jon if he wanted “to fight.” Not being selfish, Lohan said he went and asked. Unfortunately, Gosselin declined. Perhaps the problem was that it would have been a charity match. Michael, go and try again with some cash in your hands.
Lohan noted he also pitched the idea of his The Divorced Dads Club reality show idea to Jon, but there is no information how that discussion went.
In a more serious development, Jon and Kate Gosselin were asked by a judge to be nice to each other. Following a one hour meeting in the court chambers earlier today, there was no ruling (or settlement for that matter), which surely lays a solid foundation for many more Gosselin headlines. But the judge ordered the couple to settle their money issues in private and work them out with an arbitrator. Kate claims that Jon emptied their joint checking account by removing $230,000, while Jon accuses Kate of hiding $1 million.
The couple is due back in court on October 26.
