A whole day to pay tribute to those angels of mercy who lend their time, talents and as well as sympathetic shoulder and usually a big helping hand to anyone of us who ever has need of emergency hospital medical care? Hooray! Today is ‘Emergency Nurses Day,’ a time to show honor, gratitude and respect to people who pepper a field that has to be one of the hardest professions around!
If you know an ER nurse then by all means, express your gratitude and your thanks in whatever appropriate way you think today. If, however, like the rest of us you have only been the beneficiary of some ER nurses kindness, compassion, comfort and caring at any point in your life, then it’s time to add to their light by firing up one of your own! With a candle that is!
At some time today, with a heart full of appreciation and gratitude light a white candle and offer up the energies to and for all of those Florence Nightingales who might have made a huge difference in your life or in the life of a loved one as they sat scared and sick in an emergency room.
The white color of this candle stands for peace and love and serenity, all the qualities that we now hope penetrates these nurses’ lives as they have so beautifully helped to heal and mend our own!
