Michael Lohan Calls Daughter Lindsay ‘Hollow’ On Maury

michaellohanMichael Lohan, celebrity single dad of celebrity single daughter Lindsay Lohan, today appeared on the Maury Povich Show, discussing his disappointment with daughter Lindsay, who he described as a “hollow, hollow.” He claimed he wanted to reach out, but we aren’t so sure if such family matters should be part of a TV show. On the flipside, former single-mom Uma Thurman praised single moms, sort of.

Single parents can learn a lot these days from Jon Gosselin and Michael Lohan, with a boatload of examples what not to do. In yet another stunning move – I actually believe that both Lohan and Gosselin must be in a competition to top each other’s irresponsible decisions – Michael Lohan discussed what I would perceive very private details in a national daytime talk show, while portraying it as a desperate move to reach out.

“Lindsay, I love you with all my heart and … I am not going to bury you,” he said. “You’re going to bury me before this is over. I will do anything and everything I have to save your life…You’re not in the right state of mind.”

So let me get this straight: Lohan tries to reach out by claiming she is insane, on national TV? May I ask what is wrong with this guy? Did he ever try to talk to her in private?

Apparently, Lohan asked her dad to see her when she was robbed a few weeks ago. He did and now claims that what he saw was a “hollow, hollow person.” According to the NY Daily News, he said: “She called me up at 3:30 a.m. and said, ‘Daddy, come out here.’ I flew out and couldn’t even look at her. I had to go outside and cry.” He also mentioned that “there is nothing left of her.” So, again, if he wanted to help her, his choice is to talk about her on national TV, but he did not use the chance when he was with her in private?

This one left me speechless. Michael, get off the air and get help for yourself before you suggest your daughter needs help.

On the positive side, there was a nice interview with Uma Thurman who praised single moms. “Being an actress doesn’t mean I’ve not gone through every bit of what it takes to have and raise children.” She continued: “Trying to raise kids on your own is not easy. It’s why I haven’t worked as much as I should or could have. It’s why I haven’t made a film in a year. But let’s face it, whoever you are, a girl’s got to make a living.”

Thurman has been divorced since 2004 and is currently engaged to Arpad Busson.
