Supernanny gives advice on childhood asthma

Supernanny Jo Frost

Supernanny Jo Frost

Jo Frost, better known as our universal supernanny on all, well almost all, questions surrounding parenting advice, has partnered with Allergy & Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics (AANMA) to launch a new initiative that promises to shed some light on childhood asthma.

Launch Time 2 Talk Asthma promises help and advice for parents and other caregivers manage childhood asthma and allow a child with asthma to live an active life.

Jo Frost promotes a newly launched section on AsthMyths that may look quite commercial at first sight (well, and it is sponsored by Merck anyway), but in fact has tons of useful resources on how to deal with Asthma and tips how to help your child cope with Asthma. A Welcome Letter (download it here, 2.14MB PDF  file) gets you started, for example how to work with a physician, how to set up an action plan, how to prevent asthma, and how to manage everyday activities.

At this time, Frost’s participation is limited to a picture in the campaign materials here and there, but Merck as well as the AANMA say that Supernanny will provide practical advice throughout the campaign and address issues such as how to deal with sibling rivalry, establish a daily asthma care routine, coordinate play dates with friends, and teach children age-appropriate self-management skills.

Even if your child does not have asthma, hop over to the campaign’s site.
