What is Single Parent Gossip?

Single Parent Gossip is the brainchild of Lisa Nickeas Hernandez and Wolfgang Gruener. The site was born from the idea to support single parents and provide practical peer-to-peer advice on all those big and little challenges single parents face everyday. We created Single Parent Gossip to make the often difficult life of single parents just a bit easier and help you keep a positive attitude to tackle your daily challenges.

On Single Parent Gossip, you can connect with other single parents, stay up to date on single parent and divorce or custody news, educate yourself on general topics such as legal and tax issues, helpful technology and simple green ideas for a single parent household, as well as practical tips such as great weekend activities. We are constantly expanding our topic range and want to touch every aspect of the single parent life.

Be patient with us, we are just learning how to build this site. Of course we hope that we offer answers and support right away, but we know that we will miss here and there. And if you believe we are off track, just send us a note and we will do our best to improve Single Parent Gossip. And if you want to go one step further, don’t hesitate to let us know if you want to become an active contributor to this site.

Single parent life does not have to be difficult. It can be fun and rewarding!

Lisa Nickeas Hernandez
Single Mom and Founder

If you are a single mom, then you already know a lot about me. My days are filled raising my two amazing children full time. My nights are filled working as a nurse. Like so many other single parents, I had no choice but to learn how to deal with the daily struggles of being, let’s face it, alone. Occasionally I wish I had a few more hands and a few more hours available in a day.

As a single parent, you constantly educate yourself and you learn to master a pretty complicated life that is often filled with huge challenges. But so many times you face questions that have no answers. There are countless concerns that keep you awake at night. And even if you can afford professional advice, it may not always be what you are looking for.

You can turn to your family, friends and even the Internet looking for answers, but I could not always find the advice to solve my problems. This was my inspiration to create this website with Wolfgang. I wanted a place for people like me to share their stories and thoughts. A place where single parents know they can get answers and practical advice from other single parents. A place you feel comfortable coming back to.

In short: A place you enjoy being a part of. Single Parent Gossip can be that place.

Wolfgang Gruener
Single Dad and Editor

I met Lisa during my divorce process and learned how important it is to connect with people who have gone through a similar experience.

I really never anticipated that I would be caught up in a divorce one day. But here I was, clueless where to find the information I needed for the new life that was ahead of me. Becoming a single parent – I have three children who I care for half of the time – has been the most dramatic change in my life, creating new challenges at a fast pace. I have adjusted, I am constantly learning and I want to pass on my experiences to other single parents in the same way I have received advice from amazing single parents I have met especially over the past few months.

Lisa and I want Single Parent Gossip to be an approachable, entertaining and useful parenting destination that reflects the unwavering dedication to children shown by single parents every day. We won’t solve your custody battle for you, but we will do our best to make your every day life easier and more enjoyable with tips, news, sharing of  experiences and lots of stories from other single parents as well as parenting experts.

The result of our idea is in front of you and we have a sheer endless list of plans to expand this site with much more information and services that Lisa and I believe will enrich your life. Become part of our community and help us build a place with support, advice and a strong voice for single parents!
