Changing back to your maiden name

Postby mom36 » Thu Oct 29, 2009 9:48 am

When my divorce was final,I was awarded the right to change my last name back to my maiden name. My son became very upset when I approached the subject and said "it is embarrassing for my mom to have a different last name than I do" At the time, I did not want to make things any more difficult for my children than they already were, so I decided to keep the married last name for the time being. Well, that was 5 years ago......and I truly do not want that name anymore. I would appreciate any advice on how to go about telling my children that I would like to change my name.
