James Caan has filed for divorce from his wife of 14 years, Linda Stokes. Caan had filed for divorce from Stokes back in 2005, but later announced that the couple had reconciled.

Apparently, a spokesperson for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Washington D.C. told Ok! That “only (Angelina’s) name was on the (adoption) papers.”

So we know that Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin were not married and the former couple will not have to deal with at least some of the difficulties a divorce with children brings along. One of those difficulties for single parents, especially new single parents is how to deal with holidays that are spent without your child.

Singer Toni Braxton has separated from husband Keri Lewis, according to a post at Essence.com. There is no official comment or confirmation, but several media outlet speculated that Braxton’s intense on-stage kiss with Trey Songz may have been the reason for the separation. Braxton and Lewis have two children.

Shaquille O’Neal’s wife Va’Shuandya (Shaunie) has filed papers for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. Shaunie has requested residential and physical custody of the four children as well as spousal support.

Facing a rather uncertain future on TV, Jon Gosselin announced that he will be filing a $5 million lawsuit against TLC that is likely going after a contract that he considers as too restrictive to enable him to make a living. Meanwhile, it seems that TLC is positioning its artillery for a lawsuit that is designed to reveal business and family secrets. Somehow, we feel it is already clear who will lose.

The battle over Michael Jackson’s estate continues and is somewhat not so much centered around his children. Following a discussion about whether the children will participate in a reality show or not, his former wife’s $500,000 suit, we are now hearing that Jackson’s father Joe believes he is entitled to receive a monthly allowance.

Whether you think you were taken to the cleaners in your divorce depends on your view. Consider this: Sportscaster Jim Nantz will have to pay his ex-wife Lorrie Carlsen Nantz about $72,000 per month in alimony and about $4000 in child support every month for the next seven years. Lorrie will walk away with $916,000 per year and about $6.4 million over the entire period. Of course, Nantz has plenty of income right now and, hopefully, he won’t lose his job.

Jesse James asked his former wife Janine Lindemulder to leave Sandra Bullock out of their current custody dispute. His attorney chimed in an said that Bullock in fact is not a “party to this litigation”, which of course, may be a bit tough to prove, especially if we see that Bullock already has participated in court filings and will have to be part of a new child custody consideration as the new spouse of James.
