Exclusive to Single Parent Gossip – Pornography on the Internet has many faces. We all know that it always was and always will be one of the most popular topic areas and most of us have to admit that we at least played with the idea to find out what is out there.
But there is one topic we usually don’t talk about and pretend it does not exist – child pornography. Single Parent Gossip author and child safety expert Pat McKenna exposed disturbing information that child pornography and paedophiles may be just one click away from some single parents. This direct imminent threat to the safety of children does not only exist in what many still believe is an ocean of anonymity of the Internet. There is an especially alarming implication for the real world.

Settle or Fight? Should You Consider Your Divorce a War?

Managing your divorce and custody is most likely one of the most difficult tasks in your life. What you want, what you need and what you eventually settle for are, in most cases, three entirely different things. Every divorce is unique and while it is generally best to avoid expensive lawyers, you may not be able to settle out of court, especially if you are in a highly hostile divorce in which one or both parties aren’t willing to compromise.
The obvious conclusion in such a scenario is that you would go to war and fight. You may have a good reason to. But you need to be aware of the consequences of such a decision and you may want to look at some alternatives. Single Parent Gossip has some food for thought.
Lisa and Wolfgang’s Halloween Fun and Safety List – Update

Halloween and Trick or Treating are just around the corner. And if you think about it, organizing that walk around the neighborhood is much more than just picking up a costume at your local Halloween store, decorating the front of your house and buying a basket of candy. Aside your traditions, there is a basic set of tips that goes along with the single parent Trick or Treating experience to make sure you and your kids have a fun time.

“Healthy” is one of those words your children really don’t want to hear on Halloween, especially right before they go trick or treating. But if you are concerned about their teeth then there are some candies you want to be paying attention to. Julie Deardorff from the Chicago Tribune has listed the healthiest candy, if you can call candy healthy, for Halloween.
Straight Talk: How To Teach Your Child Respect

Teaching your child respect for others is among the most difficult tasks you will encounter in parenthood. It is hard enough to go through this lesson in a traditional family environment, but it gets even more complicated in single parent families. A struggle with what we perceive to be a lack of respect in our children is a growing problem these days – not just for single parents, but for children as well.
And if you are among those who do not know how to answer disrespect and even feel helpless at times, you may not like to hear that there is a good chance that the origin of this disrespect can be traced back to not so great decisions you have made in the past. However, the good news is that most cases of disrespect in children have a common foundation and there are ways you can work with your child.
Six Essential Single Parent Tips For Halloween

For many kids, Halloween is one of the most important holidays of the year. The child of divorce is faced with choices and concerns. Who will take me treat-or-treating? Who will get my costume and dress me? Where will I trick-or-treat?

I have always been fascinated by the research being done in various fields around the world. If you look in the right places on the Internet you can discover a wealth of current information released by scientists on virtually any topic from medicine, space, business, physics, technology, behavior and even archeology.
Easy to understand science for kids is a fairly new approach, but there is an amazing pool of information out there that will address the thirst of knowledge in your children and may even entertain yourself. Here are a few sites you should visit once in a while.

It has been known for some time that children who are raised in homes without a biological father have sex earlier than children raised in traditional nuclear families – and it has been a commonly accepted theory that the reason is early childhood stress that accelerates a child’s physical development. Also, children who see their parents dating may start dating earlier.
New research now indicates that this scenario may be much more complicated than previously thought. In addition to general environmental factors, genetic factors may play a significant role, according to Jane Mendle, assistant professor of psychology at the University of Oregon, who led a recent study that covered this topic.
10 Things To Say To Your Children During Your Divorce

Last week, we ran an article about what you absolutely should not say to your children during a divorce. That advice, of course, has another side: There are things that you should tell your children during a divorce. Divorce is a time of confusion for your children, they are upset and they need your help to get through this difficult phase of their life, no matter how hurt or desperate you are.
Be realistic: It will be a difficult conversation and you need to be prepared as much as you can. Make sure your children are the first ones to know about the separation. They should not learn about it from others. When you first talk to them, set enough time aside and create a calm setting, with both parents being present. You need to limit your discussion to the most pressing topics. Do not overwhelm them with information.

Let’s be serious. Dating is often a hot topic for single parents. And many of us want to find that special person at some point in our life. So, have you wondered whether Jon Gosselin could be the one? If so, you may want to get in line, just behind Nadya Suleman, mother of 14, who recently said that Jon is hot, especially in purple. Could this be a new reality show? 14 + 8 = 22?
Unlikely. Jon Gosselin is apparently trying to sell himself to TV shows and it appears that Jon is about as easy to sell as a Kia on Rodeo Drive.
