It is official: Jon and Kate Gosselin are officially divorced. A Pennyslvania judge issued a final decree of divorce this morning.

Ending the drama of the past weeks, the Gosselin’s are now single parents and can go separate ways.

It isn’t quite the happy ending some would have wanted to see, but it isn’t the disaster most of us would have expected. Jon & Kate Plus 8 concluded yesterday on an emotional note, setting the stage for what may be peaceful dissolution of the Gosselin’s marriage.

The final episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 will air tonight on TLC at 9pm EDT. Ironically, the end of the show is also, as it seems, close to the end of the couple’s marriage as the divorce could be finalized by the end of year, Jon Gosselin’s attorney said.

Sometimes, life takes unexpected turns. If you will be watching Kate tonight taking her children to a dairy farm and Jon taking them to a firehouse, you are not only seeing the final episode of Jon & Kate on TV. It may also, symbolically, conclude their marriage. Well, sort of.

What a dramatic headline that is. Don’t we all suffer at least a little bit from cellphone addiction? Listening to Kate Gosselin in yet another TV Special – no one will ever be able to say that she has violated her contract with TLC – has probably made many people think: What has happened to Jon and Kate? First we listen to Jon talking about his spiritual self and a newly found focus on the children and now it is Kate who feels sorry for things she has done and expresses that, in some way, she may always love Jon. Well. At least the memories they shared. There was also the Kate that we have seen in the past weeks, but we wonder whether Jon and Kate have finally found the right path?

John Gosselin has begun his conversation with celebrity Rabbi Shmuley Boteach at New York City’s West Side Jewish Center. During a public dialogue Sunday night, he admitted mistakes, claims he is misunderstood and expressed his intent to apologize to Kate.

The daughter of the surgeon who tucked Kate Gosselin’s tummy agreed to a chat about Jon with The Insider, which will run the conversation as a 2-part interview today and tomorrow.

Following Kate Gosselin’s attorney’s remarks that Jon Gosselin has not returned money to the joint checking account, Jon Gosselin told a judge this money that he did. But he also mentioned that Kate Gosselin still has to explain how she spent about $33,000 that has not been accounted for. Of course, Kate Gosselin’s lawyer said that she explained everything she needed to explain. Don’t you just love these games?
